Flights: Delhi to Srinagar
Srinagar Airport (SXR) has direct flights from Delhi (~1.5 hrs). What to expect:
- Budget (off-peak): ₹4,500–₹7,000 one-way
- Mid-range (March–June peak): ₹9,000–₹14,000 one-way
- Return (round trip) non-peak: ₹10,000–₹16,000
- Return during peak (April–May): ₹20,000–₹30,000
Tip: Book 8–10 weeks in advance for April–May flights. Same-day booking during this season can cost ₹40,000+ one-way.
Accommodation
Houseboat (Dal Lake, Srinagar)
A houseboat stay is the signature Kashmir experience. Quality varies enormously:
- Budget houseboat: ₹2,000–₹3,500/night (basic, older boats, functional)
- Mid-range houseboat: ₹4,500–₹8,000/night (clean, wood-carved interior, good food)
- Premium houseboat: ₹12,000–₹25,000/night (luxury boats, private deck, premium service)
Most visitors stay 2 nights on a houseboat. We recommend mid-range (₹5,000–₹8,000) for a genuine, comfortable experience.
Pahalgam Hotels
- Budget guesthouses: ₹1,200–₹2,500/night
- Mid-range hotels: ₹3,000–₹6,000/night
- Peak May–June: add 40–70% to above rates
Gulmarg Accommodation
Most visitors do Gulmarg as a day trip from Srinagar. If staying overnight:
- Mid-range: ₹5,000–₹10,000/night (prices are high for the quality delivered)
Ground Transport
Private cab for the full trip (airport → Srinagar → Gulmarg → Pahalgam → airport):
- Standard cab (Innova/Ertiga): ₹8,000–₹13,000 for 6 nights depending on kilometres
- SUV/premium (Fortuner etc.): ₹14,000–₹20,000
- Shared taxis exist on Srinagar–Gulmarg route: ₹400–₹700 per seat (slower, no control over timing)
