Rajasthan's classic circuit — the "Golden Quadrilateral" of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Udaipur — is best done in 9–12 nights. This 10-night plan adds Ranthambore for wildlife and gives each city proper time.
The Route Logic
Delhi → Jaipur → Ranthambore → Jodhpur → Jaisalmer → Udaipur → fly home from Udaipur
This is geographically efficient: you're moving in an arc rather than backtracking, and each city is naturally connected to the next by road or train.
Day-Wise Itinerary
Day 1–2: Jaipur — The Pink City
Transport: Delhi to Jaipur by Shatabdi Express (4.5 hrs, ₹900–₹1,500 per person) or drive (6 hrs, private cab).
Day 1: Amer Fort (book online, ₹200 entry + elephant ride optional ₹900). Afternoon: Hawa Mahal exterior, Jantar Mantar (₹200). Evening: Johri Bazaar local market.
Day 2: City Palace (₹700 entry). Nahargarh Fort for sunset views. Chokhi Dhani evening: folk performance + traditional dinner (~₹700–₹1,200 per person).
Day 3: Ranthambore Tiger Safari
Transport: Jaipur to Ranthambore (~3 hrs, private cab ₹1,800).
Activity: Book a Jeep Safari (Zone 1–5) through the Ranthambore Booking Portal. Cost: ₹1,500–₹2,800 per seat depending on zone. Book 30–60 days ahead in peak season.
Note: Tiger sightings not guaranteed — but the landscape and birdlife justify the trip regardless.
Day 4–5: Jodhpur — The Blue City
Transport: Ranthambore to Jodhpur (~4 hrs, private cab).
Day 4: Mehrangarh Fort (₹600 entry — best fort in Rajasthan). Jaswant Thada. Blue city walk in the afternoon.
Day 5: Clock Tower market for shopping (spices, textiles, handicrafts). Umaid Bhawan Palace grounds. Drive or train to Jaisalmer evening.
Day 6–7: Jaisalmer
Transport: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (~6 hrs, private cab or overnight train).
Day 6: Jaisalmer Fort walk (living fort — restaurants, guesthouses, havelis inside). Patwon ki Haveli (₹100). Gadisar Lake sunset.
Day 7: Drive to Sam Sand Dunes (45 km). Afternoon camel safari. Sunset over dunes. Overnight desert camp with folk performance and dinner.
Day 8–9: Udaipur — City of Lakes
Transport: Jaisalmer to Udaipur (~6 hrs by road or 1-hr flight from Jodhpur). Fly recommended if available.
Day 8: City Palace (₹700). Lake Pichola boat ride (₹400). Bagore ki Haveli cultural performance evening (₹150).
Day 9: Saheliyon ki Bari, Fateh Sagar Lake walk. Afternoon leisure. Dinner at rooftop restaurant with lake view.
Day 10: Departure
Morning Fateh Sagar. Transfer to Udaipur Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR). Fly to Delhi or onward destination.
Transport Summary (Private Cab, 10 Days)
Total cab cost for a couple sharing a private car: ₹18,000–₹26,000 for the full circuit (Jaipur to Udaipur including all local transfers).
